Confirm Pre-LCI or LCI before ordering
The X5 G05 Pre-LCI and LCI facelift have different bumper and grille profiles, exactly like the smaller G20. Full performance packages are sold separately per generation — check your registration year first.

Each video above covers a different scope — the Pre-LCI diffuser video specifically covers a tighter fitment case worth watching even if you have the more common LCI.
Get a second pair of hands for the full kit
The X5's larger panels — side skirts and full-width diffuser — are heavier and harder to align solo than on a 3 Series. Budget for two people if fitting the full performance package yourself.
Dry-fit before committing
Offer each panel up and check alignment on both sides before pushing any clips home. This matters even more on the X5's larger panel surfaces, where misalignment is more visible.
Check from 5 metres before finishing
Small misalignments are invisible up close and obvious at distance, especially on a vehicle this size. Step back before calling it done.
The most common issue we see on Pre-LCI X5 G05s brought in after a DIY attempt: diffuser fitment that looks close but doesn't seat flush, because Pre-LCI and LCI diffusers are not interchangeable despite looking similar in photos.

Yes, for confident DIY owners with trim tools and a second pair of hands — the X5's panels are larger and heavier than a 3 Series. For the carbon fibre package, professional fitting is strongly recommended given the part cost.
