Installation Overview
Five things to know before picking up a trim tool — whether you're fitting one part or the full kit.
Decide MP Style or V Style before ordering the full kit
The carbon splitter, spoiler and body kit come in two design lines — MP Style and V Style. They are not mix-and-match; pick one design language for the whole car before you order.
Watch the build series in order
Our G42 build was filmed across three episodes — wing and DRL, then carbon grille and PPF, then the full carbon finish. Watching in sequence shows how each part layers onto the last.
Test-fit the Yellow DRL module before final wiring
The CSL-style yellow DRL module is a plug-and-play swap behind the headlight, but dry-fit the connector before committing to cable routing — access is tight on the G42's front end.
Fit carbon parts before any PPF or wrap work
If you're adding paint protection film, fit the carbon grille and splitter first — PPF installers need the final panel lines in place to trim around them correctly.
Torque carbon fixings by hand, not with a driver
Carbon fibre panels crack under over-torqued fixings. Hand-tighten only, and always start clips from the centre of the panel outwards.
The issue we see most often on G42 carbon builds brought in after a DIY attempt: over-tightened fixings cracking the carbon weave at the mounting points, usually from using a power driver instead of hand tools.
If you're fitting carbon parts yourself, hand tools only. For full carbon body kits, professional fitting is strongly recommended given the part cost. Same-day where possible, backed by a lifetime warranty.

Common Questions
Does the G42 body kit fit the 230i and M240i the same way?
Yes — the G42 shares its exterior shell across 220i, 230i and M240i trims, so the splitter, spoiler and grille all fit the same way. Bumper-mounted parts are unaffected by engine variant.
Can I mix MP Style and V Style carbon parts?
We don't recommend it. The two design lines have different surface detailing and won't visually match on the same car. Choose one style before ordering the full kit.
Is the Yellow DRL module legal for UK roads?
Amber/yellow DRL modules are a popular styling upgrade inspired by BMW's CSL models. As with any lighting modification, fitment and use is at the owner's discretion — we fit exactly what's supplied.
How long does a full carbon body kit installation take?
A full carbon kit — splitter, spoiler and grilles — typically takes a full day at our West Yorkshire workshop given the care required with carbon fibre panels, backed by a lifetime fitting warranty.
What's the difference between the boot spoiler and the V Style spoiler?
The boot spoiler is a smaller lip-style addition; the V Style is a more pronounced ducktail profile. Both are shown fitted in the videos above — watch both before deciding which suits your car.
