Five things to know before picking up a trim tool — whether you're fitting one part or the full kit.
Confirm F20/F21 or F40 before ordering
The outgoing F20/F21 (2011–2019) and the current F40 (2019+) are completely different shapes — parts are not interchangeable between generations. Check your registration year first.

Dry-fit before committing
Offer each part up and check alignment on both sides before pushing any clips home. An uneven splitter is almost always caused by rushing this step.
Work from centre outwards
Seat the centre clips first, then work towards each end simultaneously. Pushing one side fully home before the other causes the misalignment we see most often in the workshop.
Check from 5 metres before finishing
Small misalignments are invisible up close and obvious at distance. Step back before calling it done.
The most common mix-up we see on 1 Series orders: customers ordering F20 parts for an F40, or vice versa, because both are simply called '1 Series' in casual conversation. The two generations don't share a single body panel.
Always check your registration year or chassis code before ordering. Same-day fitting where possible, backed by a lifetime warranty.

What's the difference between F20/F21 and F40 parts?
The F20/F21 (2011–2019) and F40 (2019+) are entirely different body shapes — bumpers, grilles and lights are not interchangeable. Confirm your generation by registration year before ordering.
Can I fit the full performance package myself?
Yes, for confident DIY owners with trim tools. The main risk is uneven alignment if clips don't seat fully on both sides simultaneously. Watch the installation video above before starting.
Does the F20 diffuser fit the LCI facelift?
The F20/F21 LCI facelift (2015+) shares the same rear bumper profile as the pre-LCI for diffuser fitment purposes — the Full Performance Package listed is LCI-specific for the front end, so check with us if unsure.
How long does professional fitting take?
Same-day fitting is available where possible. A full performance package installation is typically completed within a single workshop day.
What warranty comes with professional fitting?
All installations completed by KITS UK include a lifetime fitting warranty — covering the fitment itself, separate from the product warranty on the parts.
